Silvia López was born in Cuba and emigrated to Miami as a child. Her lifelong love of books led to a career as school librarian and later as a children’s author of over a dozen published books. Among those are two Florida Book Award recipients as well as two Junior Library Guild selections. Her latest book Uno Más, One More: a Latino Retelling of an Old Scottish Ballad, received a starred review in School Library Journal. Silvia has a great interest in Hispanic culture but loves to write about anything and everything that catches her attention. She is greatly enjoying collaborating with Susan Rose on the sweet, uplifting stories about bilingual José and his also-bilingual dog Feliz.
