Ebony
Lynn Mudd
EBONY LYNN MUDD is an author, literary activist, former professional dancer and choreographer who believes every child deserves to see themselves as the main character. Long before she was telling stories on the page, Ebony told them through movement, performing and choreographing professionally on stages under bright lights. Today, she brings that same instinct for movement and rhythm to her books, choreographing words across the blank page and creating read-alouds meant to bounce, move, and come alive in a room full of kids. Her debut picture book, Just Like Tina: Inspired by the Life of Tina Turner, was created with the blessing of Tina Turner’s estate and features a foreword by Turner’s husband, Erwin Bach. She is also the author of the forthcoming Junior Takes a Leap (Scholastic) and Swim Like Them (Simon & Schuster). Ebony has appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show to talk about literacy and reading for children. She lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, with her family.
